International Student and Scholar Services offers a variety of need-based scholarships. You are only eligible to receive an award if you demonstrate financial need within this expected range.
In awarding the need-based scholarships, the selection committee is guided by the following statement: The University values diversity, broadly defined, to include diversity of experiences, perspectives, backgrounds, and talents. Enrolling a diverse community of scholars interested in learning with and from each other fosters discussion and discovery inside and outside of the classroom.
You need to apply separately for this scholarship
You must complete an online application and several short essays by February 1, 2022 to be considered for these awards. You must also complete your application for admission by the regular deadline (January 1 for freshman applicants; transfer admission deadlines vary) and be admitted to the University of Minnesota by April 1. To remain eligible for these scholarships, you must maintain your F-1 immigration status.
Recipients of awards are notified via email by April 1 of the year they plan to enter the University.
