IT & Business

All Australian Universities are publicaly funded. 1) The only private funds they may get are from international research bodies and private companies, but it is not significant for your selection criteria. If you want to study Marketing, you are better off studying in Sydney or Melbourne which are the major business hub of the nation. 2) There are only 3 Australian universities in U-21 and unless you wish to specialise in marketing research and have the money to attend exchange programs in other countries, they wont be paradigm to your studies. Group of 8 comprises of the tier-1 universities and they attract most of the sponsors and are ranked higher than the others. 3) India is a very exciting market right now and is enjoying tremendous boom. The sad part is that whatever is taught in Australian Universities have little relevance to Indian markets. If your intention is to apply what you learn here back in India, you may run the risk of discovering that what you learnt in class was not in the South-East Asian context. You are infact much better off studying marketing in India at Times School of Marketing or the top-tier colleges. I hope you also know that Masters in Marketing will not get you enough points to apply for a Permanent Residency Visa which is essential to work and stay in Aus. Given your background, if Accounting is of interest to you, i would strongly suggest you look at the Masters in Accounting programs run here. Not only will the program fetch you enough points to get a PR, Accouting is very hot in the employer's market.
