Exeter offers first class education

Having studied for several years as a part-time PhD student at the Department of Economics of the University of Exeter. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a first class education.

All my needs were taken into account here

Embarking on a PhD relatively late in life, I am particularly grateful for the way in which my needs as a mature student were taken into account. When I left Exeter , it was not just the degree I took with me but a broad range of experience and skills that have helped me immensely in building my career.

Exeter University should be given A star

I finished my MSc in Economics at the University of Exeter in 1996. Seven years later I had no doubts in choosing Exeter to study for a PhD because it is so peaceful, safe and more importantly the community at the university was so friendly and the facilities provided were excellent.

Excellent experience

My postgraduate experience with Exeter was excellent. As a mature student I had some initial concerns about returning to further study, particularly as I was not based on the campus. However, the friendliness and support from all the staff and fellow students at the University ensured that my time was enjoyable and productive.

Provides a stimulating environment

Upon the completion of my studies for a MSc Economics, which was my original reason why I joined the University of Exeter , I was given the opportunity to continue my studies for a Ph.D. Since I felt familiar with the department of economics, I was happy to take on this further academic challenge and thus ended up staying for much longer at the University of Exeter than originally intended.

PhD has changed my whole life

Until I started my PhD at the University of Exeter I had been educated in a different academic environment. My PhD has taught me how to observe critically, think creatively and decide independently to the extent that I became able to help other research students plan their study.
