Black Mountains College was established as a response to the climate and ecological emergency. The college is committed to help create a future in which nature and human societies thrive. Education is key to understanding the current situation of the world and preparing for a different kind of future. Black Mountains College’s unique degree programme, BA in Ecological Futures, has been designed in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University. The college’s vocational courses are free, fully funded by the Welsh government. Vocational courses at Black Mountains encourage students to think critically about wider global issues and systems, and instil problem-based learning, practical skills and arts-based training in them Â鶹Դ´ more reading and writing proficiencies. All of the college’s courses acknowledge the forest school principle that re-connection to nature begins with turning nature itself into the classroom.
