The Glasgow School of Art (GSA), founded in 1845, is known for being a creative, friendly, and exciting place to study art and design courses. The atmosphere at the GSA is created by a dedicated team of lecturers, tutors and support staff who are always available to help students with their concerns (both academic and personal).
The GSA puts a strong focus on how important it is for students to be able to express themselves, and it has for over 175 years now. The institution is also welcoming to students from every background. Around 44 per cent of people currently enrolled at the GSA are international students.
Support services are available to help with every phase of the GSA journey, from settling in, to graduation and job hunting. The GSA knows that if students are cared for, safe and happy while they’re learning, they’ll produce a much higher standard of work and achieve a lot more during their time in higher education.
The GSA is a small institution, but it still has all the facilities a student could need to chase their creative dreams. The university’s campus in Garnethill, for example, has several workshops and studios — specialist spaces that allow programmes to make room for hands-on, practical experience. On this campus, there are also accommodation options for students.
Outside the GSA campus, an amazing setting is waiting. Close to Glasgow city centre, students can easily access the shops, restaurants, and evening adventures of one of Scotland’s largest (and most loved) cities. For any overseas arts applicant dreaming of an authentic Scottish university experience, the GSA is a great choice. Every person enrolled has the chance to learn at a school that really cares about artistic expression and creativity.
