International College Portsmouth (ICP) is the University of Portsmouth’s associate college and the preferred pathway provider for the university. ICP offers an array of undergraduate and postgraduate pathway programmes for the University of Portsmouth which have been specially designed to prepare students for future academic success. Successful completion of ICP pathway programmes guarantee progression to more than 100 courses at the University of Portsmouth.
ICP’s pathway programmes have been developed for international students who do not meet the English language or academic requirements for direct entry on to degree programmes at the University of Portsmouth. The college offers alternative routes to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees which help international students begin their UK university education.
ICP provides a dynamic and modern learning environment for its students, with small class sizes, experienced tutors, and plenty of student support. Students at the college also benefit from extensive access to the University of Portsmouth’s modern facilities and learning resources, in addition to its social events, societies and clubs.
Located on the UK’s beautiful south coast, Portsmouth is a student-friendly city which is home to a large student population. Over 5,000 international students from around 150 countries worldwide study at ICP.

International College Portsmouth have recently introduced a number of innovative new pathway courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
New courses at the college include its Foundation in , which can lead to a number of BA and BSc undergraduate degrees upon completion. From English literature to criminology, sociology to childhood studies, languages to international relations, and a variety of combined studies degrees, the Foundation in Humanities and Social Sciences opens up a number of exiting study pathways for students.
ICP have also recently begun offering an International First Year in Law which leads directly to an LLB (Hons) Law. Additionally, the college now offers an International Year 2 in Business and Management which leads directly to either a BA (Hons) Business and Management (Top-up) or a BA (Hons) Business with Business Communication (Top-up).
At postgraduate level, ICP now also offer a Pre-Master's in which can lead to a master’s in architecture and interior design, fashion and textiles, graphic design or illustration.

International College Portsmouth works hard to ensure that tuition fees are affordable for international students. The college also offers a variety of bursaries and financial incentives to help students fund their studies.
Undergraduate tuition fees for the 2024/25 academic year range between GBP 9,100 and GBP 17,200, depending on the subject area and course duration. Postgraduate courses, meanwhile, cost between GBP 9,100 and GBP 9,350. Postgraduate tuition fees cover a course length of one semester.

ICP students can benefit from the University of Portsmouth Vice Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship, which provides a GBP 2,500 discount on the first year of tuition fees at the university. As a member institution of the Navitas scheme, ICP also runs a family bursary programme which offers applicable students a 10 percent discount on their tuition fees.
International College Portsmouth encourages applications from students from a diverse range of academic and cultural backgrounds. The college has welcomed students from over 100 countries internationally since opening in 2009.
To apply for courses at ICP, prospective students are required to meet both the of the college. The language of instruction at ICP is English. If prospective students do not meet ICP’s English language requirements, they can begin their ICP experience with a pre-sessional English course. These courses help students develop the English language skills required to progress onto ICP pathway programmes.

International College Portsmouth provides its students with a wide range of pathway programmes which offer progression to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Portsmouth.
The college offers 11 pathway programmes which are designed to lead on to a range of degrees at the University of Portsmouth. Undergraduate pathway programmes are offered in a range of STEM subjects such as computing, engineering, mathematics, and science. Arts and humanities are represented by pathway programs in disciplines such as architecture, design and fashion, media and games technologies, humanities and social sciences, and law, politics and international relations. Students can also study pathway programs in accounting and finance, business and management, and property and surveying.
Successful completion of an undergraduate pathway programme guarantees entry to an array of undergraduate degrees at the University of Portsmouth. Foundation programmes can last up to two semesters, depending on students’ qualifications on entry. International Year 1 degree programmes are also two semesters. If students choose to apply for International Year 2 courses, they may be eligible for a one or two semester programme, depending on their previous academic qualifications.
The college also offers seven pathway programmes which can lead on to a range of master’s at the University of Portsmouth. Postgraduate pathway programmes are offered in a range of disciplines, including science and engineering, education, international relations and criminal justice, art architecture and design, accounting and finance, business and management, and logistics and supply chain management.
Successful completion of a ICP postgraduate preparatory courses guarantees entry to a postgraduate degree courses at the University of Portsmouth. Postgraduate pathway programmes are generally completed over the course of one semester.
International College Portsmouth provide a huge range of learning facilities, support services and social spaces, all designed to ensure that students achieve academic success. ICP students have full access to the same facilities available to University of Portsmouth students.
Students at ICP are able to access the university’s computer rooms, study spaces and its state-of-the-art library, which contains thousands of books, eBooks, journals and online resources. Specialist facilities at the university campus include the Future Technology Centre, a Bloomberg Suite, a motion capture studio, and many other tech laboratories.
ICP students also have access to the university’s state-of-the-art sports and fitness facilities at Ravelin Sports Centre. The sports centre was recently ranked as the best Leisure Project at the AJ Architecture Awards 2023 (celebrating the very best in architecture in the UK). Its sports facilities include a 175-station gym, an eight-court sports hall, an eight lane 25m swimming pool, squash courts, a ski simulator, a climbing wall, and multi-purpose fitness class studios. The university’s city campus is a hub of student activity and is located in close proximity to a number of local amenities.
ICP also provides its students with a number of . Students can choose to live at the college’s dedicated halls of residence or University of Portsmouth halls. Rooms in the college’s halls of residence are generally self-catered with en-suite bathrooms and are located within a few minutes’ walking distance of the campus. Accommodation fees range from GBP 110 to GBP 165 per week. Wi-Fi and utility costs are all included.
