The university offers a broad range of bachelor’s (undergraduate) and master’s (postgraduate) degrees, and is ranked ninth in the UK for teaching quality by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024. The university has students from more than 140 nationalities.
London Met has state-of-the art facilities and two libraries, where students can hone their skills and prepare for a rewarding career regardless of the field they’re looking to enter. Students on London Met’s wide range of courses have access to purpose-built art, design and recording studios, a mock courtroom, a GBP 100,000 journalism newsroom, and a GBP 30 million Science Centre, which is one of Europe’s largest science teaching labs.
All London Met undergraduate students are guaranteed a work-based learning opportunity, which counts towards their studies. Students also get support to find part-time job opportunities while they study, which continues after they’ve graduated with access to the university’s career service three years after graduation. In the Daily Mail University Guide, London Met features in the top 20 UK universities for student support and is in the top 50 UK universities for graduate salaries.

It is ninth in the UK for teaching quality according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024. London Met strives to offer top-class teaching across all academic schools and subject areas. This creates an environment that facilitates the personal and academic development of students, which is the ideal preparation for their future careers and helps them become graduates who are sought after by employers.
London Met is comprised of six specialist schools, offering a range of courses. Students have access to high-quality facilities and are led by dedicated and experienced teaching staff.

Offering a dynamic portfolio of courses across business, law and languages, students have access to several top-of-the-range facilities including a mock courtroom, Bloomberg financial data software and an interpreting suite.
Teaching high-tech courses including computer science, creative technologies, electronics, cyber security and journalism. Students gain practical experience in some of the most advanced Cisco labs in London, plus a newsroom and TV studio.
Ranging from nursing and dietetics to biomedical science, chemistry and sports therapy, students carry out practical experiments in London Met’s GBP 30 million Science Centre, one of the largest and most advanced science teaching facilities in Europe.
The School of Social Sciences and Professions aims to effect change in society through demonstrating the value of social sciences and professions. Many of its courses are endorsed and accredited by professional bodies to help graduates secure jobs in the public sector, non-governmental organisations or private companies.
Located in the thriving art district of east London, students have access to specialist workshops and equipment including digital manufacturing facilities and editing suites. The school also connects students with industry professionals to further enhance graduate career prospects.
London Met’s School of the Built Environment focuses on the design, planning, financing, construction, sale and operation of places within which we live, work, travel and play.
Students can gain support through Accelerator, the university’s business incubator. Accelerator supports students who want to set up their own business and welcomes them into a thriving community of entrepreneurs.
London Met is on a mission to tackle the inequalities facing London to improve people’s lives and to deliver social justice.
The university works with more than 600 partner organisations including local authorities, NHS Trusts, sports clubs, third sector organisations, higher education institutions and businesses, to tackle the challenges facing the city and its communities.
As part of its mission to give back to the community, London Met has several university clinics that are open to the public, offering cost-effective or free services. These include a pro-bono legal advice service, as well as an injury and rehabilitation clinic.

London Met’s entry requirements vary depending on the course. Students are encouraged to visit individual course pages on the website for more information on specific entry requirements. Students should also check on the specific documentation necessary to make an application.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate the required competency in the English language. Those who require a student visa may have to provide a Secure English Language Test (SELT), for example, the IELTS Academic test.
For students who still need to meet the English language requirements necessary for admission there are pre-sessional academic English courses available. These courses are available for both bachelor’s and master’s students who need to develop their English language skills before starting their degree.
The (IFP) is a programme built for students who require further support before they can transition into bachelor’s level study at London Met. They’ll have already completed high school or some university education overseas.
Students from non-European/non-EEA country are required to take a UK visas and immigration (UKVI) approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) from a UKVI approved centre in order to study one of London Met’s International Foundation Programmes. All applicants who are not from a majority English-speaking nationality will need to comply with these requirements, as well as those who don’t have a previous degree studied and awarded from a majority English speaking nation.
