The Royal Academy of Music is Britain’s oldest conservatoire. It was founded in 1822 and is situated on Marylebone Road in central London, England. The academy’s library contains over 16,000 items, including collections and manuscripts, materials and audio facilities. The academy has students from over 50 countries enrolled in diverse programmes like instrumental, conducting, composition, jazz, musical theatre and opera. Academy students perform in the concerts as also under nationally/internationally respected conductors. In 1999, the academy was admitted as a full member of the University of London (UoL), the only music conservatoire to be accorded membership. Students at the academy reap the benefits of a stimulating curriculum and a wide range of concerts and events. The academy frequently has legendary artists over, not just to perform, but to become mentors and musical partners of the students.
