The PLACE Independent School is a part of the Edison Young People Group with its own leadership team whose functioning is overseen by the Director or Education and Proprietor. The PLACE Independent School was established to meet the needs of young learners who find it difficult to cope in mainstream environments where their emotional and developmental needs may not be adequately or effectively met. The school works in line with the principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and attachment theory to help young people grow and develop. The school’s objectives include the promotion of peer relationships, developing physical health through adventure and utilising nature and outdoor learning. The school is set in beautiful countryside in a rural environment and utilises the therapeutic support of school animals such as cats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats, ducks and much more.
