Established as the Boston Architectural Club in 1889, Boston Architectural College (BAC) is a haven for students who have a natural flair for design. BAC is the largest independent college of spatial design in New England. The college has a rich history and takes great pride in its students, who represent over 54 nationalities. Students at BAC learn from professional courses that make them highly employable. 97 percent of students from BAC are found to be employed on their graduation day.
BAC is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, which is a marker of the high standard of the education and academic resources it offers. The college explores spatial design in many forms, across architecture, interiors, landscapes, urban design, and special areas including human health, historic preservation, real estate development, and sustainable design.
The BAC “family” is diverse and values the unique vision that each individual contributes. Students can obtain one-to-one professional career guidance from the Practice Department, with the aim of effectively pursuing career goals. Additional support is available online at each stage of the job hunt, including CV, cover letter and portfolio advice, plus interview practice.
µţ´ˇ°ä’s Gateway to Practice initiative provides a platform for students to gain experience in project planning and delivery through design services that benefit non-profit organizations. An active alumni network also connects current students to a world of opportunities and real-world learning.

From 2024, the Master of Interior Architecture will be offered both on-site and online at BAC. Since piloting the USA’s first NAAB-accredited online Master of Architecture program, BAC has become a leader in online education and accessible options for students all over the world.
The Online Master of Interior Architecture features the same curriculum that is taught on-campus, but in a remote format, enabling students to create interior spaces that prioritize human health, well-being, sustainability, and adaptability.
This CIDA-accredited program emphasizes sustainability and environmental consciousness to contribute to a better designed and more inclusive world.
The Department of International Student Services will run its popular mentor-mentee program for a second year. This program allows new students to seamlessly transition into life in Boston and provides opportunities for current students to earn their practice hours.
Mentors (current students) are paired with mentees (new students) to answer questions about the program, school life, and life in Boston in general. This program helps build strong connections and relationships that students maintain throughout their time at the BAC and beyond.
In 2023, the US Department of Homeland Security designated landscape architecture a STEM program, highlighting the important role the profession plays in creating green spaces that enhance urban environments and alleviating negative impacts of climate change.
Eligible F-1 students of STEM degrees who complete their study program and participate in regular post-completion OPT (often for 12 months) may apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension.

A number of are made available to current and incoming students at the Boston Architectural College every year. Students are advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria for scholarships, awards and grants prior to application.
BAC awards a total of USD 100,000 in Dean's Awards annually. The Dean’s Award is a competitive partial scholarship granted to incoming students.
The Dean’s Award is renewable for the duration of a student's program at the BAC. Students are automatically considered for this award if they complete their application for admission to BAC by February 15th for the fall semester, or October 15th for the spring semester.

English proficiency
Students whose native language is not English must submit . The minimum accepted level is an overall IELTS score of 6.5, or an equivalent qualification.
BAC also accepts TOEFL, Duolingo, Pearson Test of English Academic, Kaplan Test of English (KTE), and Cambridge English: Advanced test scores.
BAC may also consider attendance at an IB school for a minimum of three years, college/university for a minimum of two years, and/or other situations as proof of English proficiency.
At BAC, classroom and practical learning go hand-in-hand. Alongside lectures and on-campus studio experiences, students acquire vital professional experience through real-world employment and hands-on projects, earning credit and building compounding skills in both settings.
BAC boasts a diverse and experienced faculty, made up of over 300 practicing architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and other design-related experts. As a consequence, students receive a top-quality design education, steeped in the practicalities of real-world experience.
BAC has a stated mission to provide excellence in design education emerging from practice and accessible to diverse communities. As a result, in order to complete the applied learning element of their education, BAC students earn by acquiring professional design skills through employment.
The Practice Department provides professional advice and a range of resources to help students identify their career goals and determine the appropriate steps towards developing and realizing those ambitions. Staff meet with learners on a one-on-one basis to assess their practice work and offer feedback, helping students to fine-tune their skills and develop a clear strategy to achieve their goals.
Boston Architectural College offers ten graduate and undergraduate for international students.

The School of Architecture offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture, which integrate ongoing, real-world design practice into their curricula. Programs are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board.
The School of Interior Architecture’s undergraduate and graduate programs in interior architecture prepare learners to become NCIDQ-certified interior designers. Students benefit from creative studios and real-world practical experience.
Landscape architecture programs at BAC are delivered through the School of Landscape Architecture. These bachelor’s and master’s programs train students to handle contemporary urban problems in architecture and landscape design.
The School of Design Studies offers master’s programs in a wide array of design disciplines, including human health, historical preservation, and sustainable design, to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving design professions.
