Ever since its inception in 1865, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been a forerunner in technical education. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the Institution offers different study programs through its six departments. MIT has allied with education and research institutions in India through the MIT-India initiative, which facilitates exchange programmes, providing Indian students with the opportunity to pursue their education or research activities at MIT.
