Founded in 1855 as St. Ignatius Academy, the University of San Francisco (USF) was one of the first racially integrated universities in the U.S. The university offers over 80 undergraduate programs and 60 graduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, nursing, and health. Students come to USF from more than 100 countries and from various ethnic and faith backgrounds and traditions. The university also has a large alumni network of over 110,000 spread all over the world, working in every field known to humankind. Outside of the classroom, students can join various clubs or organizations on campus, which help them follow their passions. The university鈥檚 55-acre campus is located just a block away from the exact center of San Francisco and gives students access to art galleries, sporting events, live music, and much more.
