What will I learn?

Learning assessment is a crucial part of effective learning design. If you don't engage in assessment and evaluation, how do you know that your design worked? How can you improve it for the next iteration? This UTS microcredential explores innovative approaches to assessment and evaluation, the different methods and tools used for assessment, and how technologies can assist in the delivery of feedback.

About this microcredential

This microcredential will introduce you to the different forms of assessment, the principles of designing good assessments, and how to best deploy assessment constructively. Youll explore the importance of feedback, and how different technologies can assist in the delivery of feedback.

By the end of the course, youll never look at a rubric the same way again and will have the knowledge and skills to design effective assessments.

Upon successful completion of this microcredential, you should be able to:

Compare and contrast different approaches to assessment, and analyse the appropriate uses for these approaches

Design effective assessments tasks for learning activities

Evaluate learning designs using different models to gauge their effectiveness

Reflect on and evaluate own and others learning and practice

Communicate assessment and/or evaluation information appropriate to the audience, context and purpose.
