What will I learn?

This interdisciplinary degree combines two complementary fields to equip you for a specialist marketing career with skills in digital and print design. Youll gain foundation knowledge in design and evidence-based marketing and learn how to apply design principles across a range of marketing activities.You will also learn about the creative elements of advertising and how to work collaboratively with graphic designers to create high quality marketing materials.You could apply for Vacation Research Scholarships with the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, or take part in our on-campus Marketing Clinic. The Clinic provides advice to small and medium-sized businesses under the supervision of marketing experts.Explore the creative elements of advertising and how to work collaboratively with graphic designers to create high quality marketing materials.Gain an understanding of evidence-based marketing and how to apply design principles to a range of marketing activities.Take part in our in-house Marketing Clinic and provide advice to small and medium-sized businesses under the supervision of marketing experts.High-achieving students can benefit from Vacation Research Scholarships with the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science.The degree starts with core courses in business. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals such as economics, accounting and business law. Elective courses are another key part of your business degree.In your design and marketing specialisation, youll focus on areas such as digital marketing, design for publication, consumer behaviour, and computer graphics and imaging for design.Career outcomes - :Advertising account manager: managing client relationships preparing creative briefs managing the production of advertisements managing internal and external communicationsBrand manager: responsible for driving the growth of a brand ensuring all aspects of a brands marketing and manufacturing match creating a brand strategy and ensuring all aspects of a product or an activity align with the brand.Campaign manager: combining creative thinking with factual analysis to target marketing campaigns at audiences identifying the best mediums for building brand awareness and sales.Marketing coordinator: promoting products or services by developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns tracking and evaluating performance data coordinating events copywriting for a number of promotional channels.Marketing design specialist: understanding the role creativity and design plays in marketing, and collaborating with other marketing specialists, across advertising, print, media and digital marketing in a diverse range of sectors.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result, and demonstrate that they fulfil any prerequisite requirements and essential requirements for admission:

Recent secondary education:

Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent and

Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or

Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points

or

Higher education study

Complete or partly complete a recognized higher education program at a recognized higher education institution

or

Complete at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at undergraduate level or above

or

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Complete an award from a registered training organization at Certificate IV or above

or

Work and life experience, or

Complete a UniSA Foundation Studies program or equivalent, or

Hold completed secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE obtained more than 2 years in the past

English language requirements:

IELTS score of 6.0; TOEFL iBT score of 60 with Reading and Writing not less than 18; TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) score of 550 with TWE of 4.5; iBT score of 60 with Reading and Writing not less than 18; Cambridge CAE/CPE score of 169; Pearson's test of English (Academic) (PTE) score of 50 with Reading and Writing communicative scores not less than 50; CELUSA score of AE4.
