What will I learn?

Chisholms unique Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs will give you the skills you need to provide non-clinical services to specialists such as psychiatrists, nurses and social workers.You'll gain an in-depth understanding of issues relating to alcohol and other drugs, mental health practice, community development and counselling processes. You'll also learn about the legal and ethical frameworks, working with children and youth, intervention strategies, client advocacy and working in aged care.This program has been designed to meet the growing need for highly trained practitioners in the field. With direct input from stakeholders in areas of mental health and AOD, the degree has been developed in close consultation with practitioners, academics, professional bodies and policy makers at both state and federal government levels.
