The future of cyber security relies on people like you who are able to think quickly, find innovative solutions, and work to keep the data of companies and nations secure, as well as protect our individual privacy.

Western's Bachelor of Cyber Security and Behaviour is the only cyber security degree in Australia that analyses both the technical and human side, and places you at the forefront of a dynamic digital world.

With a focus on hands on learning led by industry experts, you'll use cutting edge technology to develop skills in programming and hacking and build your understanding of usable security and privacy by design – two skills that are highly sought after worldwide.

You'll be introduced to cyber risk management frameworks and how to think dynamically to respond to cyber threats. Learn the behavioural science behind online fraud and advance hacking, and use this knowledge to protect data against cyber attacks.

We've partnered with leading Australian and global organisations to offer industry based training, and your final year will include specialised industry placement or a research project where you will work towards industry certifications. Graduate ready for a thriving career in cyber security and intelligence, including Data and Security Analyst, Ethical Hacker or Cyber Policy Maker.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
