What will I learn?

Course structure

This course requires successful completion of 240 credit points which includes twelve core subjects, and eight elective subjects which can be chosen from any discipline available at Sydney City Campus.

Students undertaking a major need to complete the specific major subjects in place of some elective subjects. Majors available :

Course overview

The Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is a professional course that will provide you with solid skills and a knowledge base in ICT.

It will provide you with the skills to apply practical solutions to ICT including systems analysis and design, application development, program design, networks, web development and the implementation of technology.

Networking and Cloud Computing

The Networking and Cloud Computing major provides students with in-depth knowledge for the analysis, design, and implementation of cloud and networked systems. It offers students the opportunity to develop the technical skills needed for the management and secure operations of a broad range of systems, including LANs, WANs, wireless and mobile networks, and large heterogeneous networks.

As a graduate of the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology degree, you can look forward to career opportunities, such as network administrator or engineer, systems architect, systems integrator, database administrator or programmer, web analyst, community/ commercial web systems designer/ developer, software quality analyst, business programmer, software engineer analyst, systems developer, games developer, and information systems manager.

Entry requirements

For international students

Successful completion of Year 12, successful completion of a recognised foundation studies program, 1 year of university studies or completion of a qualification equivalent to an Australian AQF Certificate IV. Your English language proficiency test must be no more than two years old at the time of your commencement at Western Sydney University.

IELTS (ACADEMIC VERSION): 6.5 overall score Minimum 6.0 in each subtest

TOEFL INTERNET-BASED SCORE: Total score 82 Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13

PEARSON TEST OF ENGLISH (PTE) ACADEMIC: 58 overall No communication skills less than 50
