What will I learn?

You will graduate with honours and an advanced understanding of legal principles, including the opportunity to experience an industry or clinic placement, undertake a law reform project or conduct high level research in your final year. In our Legal Advice Clinic youll gain valuable experience, solving the legal problems of clients under the guidance of a managing solicitor.Become a global citizen with our overseas exchange program. We have more than 60 partner universities worldwide, and study options that range from two weeks to one year. We collaborate with over 2,500 companies worldwide to bring you placement, project, research and work opportunities. You can also choose to incorporate local or national internships and clerkships into your degree.Gain a competitive edge with expertise in two fields and graduate with two degrees in just five years.Experience our on-campus moot court and learn what its like to act as an advocate and present before a judge. This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in economics, finance and trade.From your first few weeks as a law student you'll do practical courses and see what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice. Youll gain valuable skills that you can apply in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy to resolve complex legal problems.Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.Career outcomes - :Immigration consultant: assisting clients with the appropriate legal requirements and documentation to emigrate from one country to another for study, work, travel or business purposes understanding of immigration law and visa law.International trade lawyer: creating agreements that govern trade and commerce between countries and/or across borders advising businesses and organisations of what they must do in order to comply with international trade laws.Procurement manager: implementing and managing consistent strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods and services monitoring business trends and product availability to ensure best prices, quality and delivery times managing supplier relationships overseeing a team of purchasing agents.Project manager: ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to project plans managing project team resources scheduling, preparation and resource forecasting managing vendors and suppliers managing budgets.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result, and demonstrate that they fulfil any prerequisite requirements and essential requirements for admission:

Recent secondary education:

Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent and

Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or

Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points

or

Higher education study

Complete or partly complete a recognized higher education program at a recognized higher education institution

or

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Complete an award from a registered training organisation at Diploma level or above

or

Work and life experience

Hold completed secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE obtained more than 2 years in the past

English language requirements:

IELTS score of 7.0; TOEFL iBT score of 94 with no band less than 22; TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) score of 600 with TWE of 5.0; Cambridge CAE/CPE score of 186; Pearson's test of English (Academic) (PTE) score of 65 with no communicative score less than 65; CELUSA score of AE6.
