What will I learn?

The Electronic Music and Sound Design major allows you to explore industry-relevant techniques and technologies as you create professional electronic music compositions. Combine your interests of music and technology in this creative-focused major. The Electronic Music and Sound Design major explores artistic and technical aspects of the field toward creating professional, industry relevant electronic/digital music compositions.Studio and lab-based units allow students to think creatively, to invent and to innovate. Via small and large-scale creative projects, students develop expertise in electronic/digital music composition, sound design and production-skills applicable to a range of creative and technical professions. The Electronic Music and Sound Design major culminates in a major project of the student's choosing, and accommodates a wide range of individual interest, such as an album of electronic works, a live performance / exhibition, film/animation scoring or music for video games.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete an international academic qualification equivalent to Australian High School (or equivalent).

English language requirements:

IELTS (academic): Overall minimum score of 6.5, no band lower than 6.0

TOEFL Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): an overall score of 82 or above with a minimum score of 22 in writing, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 20 in listening

Pearsons Test of English (PTE) (academic): An overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 59 in the speaking and writing sections, and no less than 54 in the other sections
