What will I learn?

This dual program sets you up for a career where you'll use your engineering know-how as a leader in a business or entrepreneurial setting. By completing the dual program you'll gain an extra qualification and open up pathways to use your engineering prowess in a broad range of business applications. In the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), youll develop technical skills through a core specialisation, which will form the basis of your career. Depending on your choice of specialisation, the engineering skills you'll develop will allow you to work in a range of fields, from infrastructure and hospitals to energy and software. Under the world-class business program, you'll complete a range of courses that cover concepts relevant across the business world. You'll study topics including innovation and entrepreneurship, economics, marketing, business information systems, strategy and management. During your studies you'll hear from guest lecturers from industry, examine real-life case studies and undertake projects, placements and internships with leading businesses.

Entry requirements

For international students

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).
Both Chemistry and Physics are recommended subjects. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) is also a recommended subject. Students studying Specialist Mathematics and both Physics and Chemistry will have increased flexibility in their studies.
Students without Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 88 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.

English language requirements

IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.

TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5.

Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
