What will I learn?

Expand your capabilities in food science from a science-based perspective. Develop your technical knowledge and ability to analyse food science problems and deliver solutions. The Master of Food Science is designed for food scientists and graduates wanting to advance and expand their knowledge and skills in their current area of expertise and for engineers who want to move into food science from a science-based perspective. Youll develop your technical knowledge and ability to analyse food science problems and gain a deeper understanding of the agrifood business, as well as meeting or maintaining professional accreditation standards and developing your career opportunities.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to this program requires one of the following:

A 4-year Bachelor degree in Food Science (or equivalent) with a minimum 65% average; or
Completion of the 5037 UNSW Graduate Diploma in Food Science with a minimum 65% average; or

An equivalent qualification from another recognised university or tertiary institution.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
