What will I learn?

If you'd love to immerse yourself in contemporary literature and creative writing, start in the Associate of Arts degree in Creative Writing at CapU.

Hone your writing under the guidance of practicing writers, who specialize in poetry and poetics (including digital poetics), the novel, micro-fiction, creative non-fiction, writing for children, ficto-criticism, radio and short film scripts.

You'll start you first year by studying multiple genres and branch out in second year to explore poetry, fiction, non-fiction, playwriting and writing for children.

Upon graduation, you'll finish with an Associate Degree plus first- and second-year English and creative writing credits, which can be laddered in to one of the 15 bachelor's degrees at CapU.

High school graduation

A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 and two academic Grade 12 courses

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 83 (internet-based score), 560 (paper-based score).
ELA (English Language Assessment Test): 145
Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5 overall and no one scores less than 6
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment Test): 70
PTE (Pearson Test of English - Academic): 56
DET (Duolingo English Test) - 125 or higher with no sub-score less than 115.
