With professors internationally recognized in the field and its ideal location on the St. John-Kennebec sis River estuarine complex, the campus is well equipped to offer this program.
The marine biology program is a general synopsis of the discipline with special emphasis on Canadian east coast waters. Marine biology students at UNB Saint John receive a broad, basic training that will allow them to qualify for a wide range of employment opportunities, both in Canada and abroad.

Course of study
The semester consists of 5 courses worth a total of 19 credits. It is equivalent to a full-semester course load, and students are expected to take all 5 courses.
Three courses run for 2-4 consecutive weeks each, and two run throughout the semester.
The semester involves lectures, research seminars, discussions, labs, field trips and independent research projects. It is designed to promote critical thinking and expose students to innovative research in marine biology.

Students must complete high school for admission to the University of New Brunswick. They must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice. UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student鈥檚 "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.

Senior English Literature
Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus
1 other academic maths
Senior Chemistry
1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences)
1 elective from group 1 or 2
Minimum admission average: 75% (The average marks in Pre-Calculus Math, Chemistry and the best other Science course must be at least 75 %.)
