The Mathematics program on the Saint John campus is available as a major and minor option as part of a Bachelor of Science degree as well as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree. Additionally, there is a major in Mathematics and Economics option as part of a Bachelor of Science degree and there is a Certificate in Mathematics for Education.
The size of UNB Saint John provides students with the opportunity to benefit from the small class sizes while still having a range of interesting courses from which to choose. As an upper year undergraduate student there are opportunities to be a teaching assistant marking assignments, to be a tutor in the Flora Beckett Math and Science Help Centre helping first year students, or to work on a summer research project with a faculty member.

Students must complete high school for admission to the University of New Brunswick. They must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice. UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student鈥檚 "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.

Senior English Literature
Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus
1 other academic maths
Senior Chemistry
1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences)
1 elective from group 1 or 2
Minimum admission average: 75% (The average marks in Pre-Calculus Math, Chemistry and the best other Science course must be at least 75 %.)
