What will I learn?

Faculty in the Department of Physics and Astronomy have research interests ranging from the very small (atoms and nanomaterials) to the astonishingly large (galaxies and the universe itself). We study natural phenomena (star formation, Earth鈥檚 atmosphere, meteors), as well as various applications of physics in medicine (imaging, radiotherapy) and technology (solar cells, graphene, nanofabrication, optoelectronic devices, biomaterials).

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.5 principal courses, each with a mark of at least 60%
