Students in the Chemistry (MSc) program have the opportunity to participate in the generation of chemical knowledge by conducting research with a faculty mentor/advisor. In addition to state-of-the-art research facilities and high-impact research projects, Chemistry provides a close-knit, multicultural environment in which our graduate students can thrive both scientifically and personally.
The Chemistry (MSc) program consists of a combination of coursework and a thesis component.

The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the program.
Admission decisions are based on the qualifications of the applicant as well as the ability of the Department of Chemistry and the University of Manitoba to serve the applicant's intended program of study and area of specialization.
To be considered for admission to the Chemistry (MSc) program, you must have a minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field (or equivalent).
English language proficiency
IAEP (Intensive Academic English Program) - Pass Level 5/AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance) with a minimum of 65% overall
IELTS (Academic module) (International English Language Testing System) - 6.5 overall
Internet-based TOEFL - Overall score of 86 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking - 20)
Pearson Test of English Academic - 61 overall
Cambridge Assessment of English at the C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency level - Minimum score of 180
