A general business management education provides the versatility to work in a variety of management careers. Langara College鈥檚 Business Management graduates are the chameleons of the work world and are able to draw on their solid business education to tackle business opportunities and problems. As well, those with an entrepreneurial spirit will gain the expertise to operate their own enterprise. In addition to courses from a variety of business areas including marketing, financial management and international business, students who choose this concentration complete general education support courses.

First-Year Entry
By applying to the School of Management BBA programs and entering in year 1, you have the option of completing a BBA Degree, exiting after two years with a diploma, or earning both the BBA and a diploma. All our programs offer Co-operative Education options.
Third-Year Entry
Students with previous business education may enter the School of Management BBA programs in year three. Some bridging courses may be required.
Students who wish to participate in this option must maintain above-average academic standing and demonstrate potential for success in their chosen professional field.
One four-month work term (a minimum of 420 hours) must be completed for a co-op designated diploma. Employers provide co-op instructors with job descriptions to be posted. Students submit their resumes via the co-op instructors who will submit the package to the employer and arrange job interviews. Students are strongly encouraged to start building their professional network and be an active participant in self-marketing in order to source their co-op work placement.
Employers make the hiring decisions and establish the working conditions, salary and benefits. The co-operative education option has proven to be of great benefit to students. Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge, to develop skills in a practical work setting, and to gain related experience before commencing their professional careers.

Academic Requirements
To be admitted and participate in the co-operative education option, students must:
Be enrolled in three or more program courses (minimum nine credits), not including EXPE 2300 (formerly BUSM 2300/COOP 2300);
Achieve and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.6 in each term;
Successfully complete an employability assessment interview with a Co-op instructor; and
Complete EXPE 2300 (formerly BUSM 2300/COOP 2300) with a minimum 'C' grade.
