Program Overview

Learn the fundamentals of business finance

At Sheridan, you’ll gain the essential finance skills needed to succeed in today’s business world. You’ll work with computer software that’s currently used in the industry and cover key finance topics and practices. You’ll study financial analysis and management, personal financial planning, credit planning, taxation, investments and more. You can also learn to develop financial plans for clients. Get advanced experience in our innovative finance courses

Advance your knowledge with practical courses such as Business Cases and Applied Business Management. These courses use hands-on lessons and projects to help you gain experience with real-world scenarios. You’ll take part in investment portfolio games, case studies of actual corporate financials and collaborative assignments to help you put everything you’ve learned in your studies to work. Gain work experience with finance co-op opportunities

As a Business Administration - Finance student, you’ll have the chance to do up to three co-op work terms during your studies. You’ll work in a program-related position in the finance industry, making connections through networking and gaining invaluable hands-on experience. You’ll need to apply for the cooperative education experience and be accepted in order to participate. Learn from experienced faculty who work in finance

Sheridan's Business Administration - Finance diploma includes specific FP Canada™ Approved Fundamentals courses, which meet FP Canada’s Technical Education - Fundamentals requirement leading to QAFP certification. Pursue the CMA's Chartered Marketer program

Entry requirements

For international students

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:

One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U), minimum 60% plus

Mathematics, Grade 12 (C or U) or mathematics, Grade 11 (M or U*) * MBF3C does not meet this requirement.

Minimum 65% overall average required for PBUSP, PBAFI, PBUFI

Minimum 70% overall average required for PBAFC or

Mature student status.

IELTS - overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition (DI Code: 9117) - overall score 80 with no individual section below 20

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49

Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85

Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50

Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7

Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
