What will I learn?

Marketing and Communication is an interdisciplinary major that equips students with knowledge in marketing, finance and accounting, management, statistics, and information technology. Upon completion of the major, students are expected to be able to communicate verbally and in writing in both Chinese and English at a Level of effectiveness appropriate for business purposes and general conversation. They will also be capable of creating and delivering value in products and services to satisfy the needs of and build long-term relationships with target customers.

The major in Marketing and Communication is benchmarked against that of internationally renowned business schools to offer all-round and professional training on modern marketing theories, consumer behaviors and market research abilities, integrating cutting-edge information technology and big data in line with practical applications.

The major is taught by a team of international faculty with a reasonable age gradient, including young scholars who stand at the frontiers and senior professors with fruitful achievements and mature experience, as well as leading experts in marketing.

For international students

There are diverse qualification options for an applicant to choose from. The following are the qualifications we accept:

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP)
  • European Baccalaureate
  • GCE A-Level / International A-Level
  • SAT Reasoning Test / ACT and SAT Subject Test / Advanced Placement (AP) Test

English Language Requirements

English is the primary medium of instruction and working language here at CUHK-Shenzhen. We require candidates to demonstrate good English Language proficiency for the best study experience. Therefore, an applicant must demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency in English. Our minimum standards are:

  • IELTS: 6.5, with no band under 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT: 80, with no band under 20
  • ACT Combined English./Writing or English Language Arts (ELA): 23
  • SAT (New) Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 590
  • GCSE/ GCE-OL: C
  • GCE-AL/ AS: C
  • IB: 4 in HL/SL
