What will I learn?

Business Information Systems (BIS) is an EFMD accredited innovative 4-year undergraduate degree that explores the use of technology in the modern business environment. Incorporating skills development in technology, business and technology management through individual, team and virtual team project work combined with our global learning and industry engagement initiatives. It mixes business subjects such as Accounting, Economics and Marketing with technology-focused subjects such as Databases, Systems Analysis, Cybersecurity and e B.Sc. in BIS degree provides you with the ideal platform for a successful career in business.

Further Education

Graduates can go on to study in many postgraduate programmes like a Masters degree in Business Analytics or Information Systems Management. Past graduates are currently employed in companies such as Google, Accenture, Deloitte, Microsoft, SAP and Storm.

Study Abroad

BIS students have the option to study abroad in our partner universities in year 3. Some of our partners include Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Kogod School of Business (Washington DC, USA), Montana State University (USA), Lehigh University (NY, USA), and ESC Rennes (France).

For students who choose not to study abroad, a global experience that fulfils the integrated learning outcomes of a Global Experience without physically going abroad will be offered.

Entry requirements

For international students

Minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at O6/H7 level in the Leaving Certificate, including Irish, English, another language, Mathematics, and any two other subjects recognised for entry purposes.

English Language Requirements

IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
