Our goal is to establish the School as a leading European centre for integrative biology, exploring and understanding the processes that drive change from evolutionary, environmental and social perspectives and at levels ranging from the molecular and genetic to individual, ecosystem and landscape. The School provides integrated science to underpin environmental policy and sustainable management and in support of industries that depend on natural resources, including agriculture, horticulture, forestry and freshwater and marine fisheries.

Applicants for research degree should normally possess a first degree of at least an upper second class honours primary degree or the equivalent and/or Master's degree or its equivalent.
English language requirements: IELTS - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band on the Academic Version; A minimum score of 600 in the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), with Test of Written English at 475 +. In the computer based TOEFL, a minimum score of 250 is required. A minimum score of 90 is required in the Internet based TOEFL (IBT).
