What will I learn?

For Primary teaching, you can choose between our English or Huarahi M膩ori streams. Our programme will equip you with the tools you need to teach in 21st century classrooms where building strong relationships is vital, diversity is welcomed and digital learning is key. The programme is shaped by a commitment to fairness and social justice. It is underpinned by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to ensure equitable outcomes in learning. You will learn 麻豆原创 a diverse range of students and be taught basic proficiency in te reo M膩ori. You will be taught by academics who are experts in their fields of Education and passionate about supporting the next generation of teachers. Courses are taught through a range of methods including face-to-face lectures, tutorials and workshops, as well as online learning. Over the three years, youll spend full-time practical placements (practicums) in a range of schools or kura. You'll have the guidance of a dedicated teacher within the school or centre, as well as support by your university supervisors. This will help you to become a part of a community, establish connections to set you up in your career, and gain vital skills to prepare you for the transition into teaching.Complete a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) specialising in either Primary or Huarahi M膩ori to teach at primary and intermediate schools (typically students aged 5鈥13) in Aotearoa New Zealand. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply for provisional teacher certification. The programme is structured around core compulsory courses that develop your understanding of the New Zealand curriculum and your knowledge and skills as an effective teacher. You will become confident in using te reo Maori authentically in the classroom and develop skills to teach diverse learners.

Entry requirements

For students from Hong Kong

Applicant must have secondary school qualification or equivalent; GCE 'A' Levels: CCC (This covers GCE and Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level subjects from: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CCEA, WJEC, Cambridge International and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB). Scores are calculated on the best three academic subjects. General Studies cannot be included. Only H2 Level academic subjects are considered for GCE A Level taken in Singapore.)

For international students

Secondary school qualifications

You need to have one of the following:

International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). You must have completed a minimum of three A-level subjects.

GCE 鈥楢 Level requirements apply to 鈥楢 Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA and Pearson Education Limited taken outside of New Zealand.

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 7.0
