What will I learn?

This media course introduces you to a range of industry software and best practices in graphic design, animation, filmmaking, photography, web development and coding. After 20 weeks, youll have built a mini-portfolio of work and developed the skills needed to pursue your passion. This course is available face to face and online as full-time, or part-time study. It has been especially designed to give you a taste of every digital design discipline to see where your passions lie. Over 20 weeks, youll try graphic design, film-making, animation and interactive design. Youll be introduced to a range of industry software and learn photography, video creation and editing, web development, character development and even a bit of coding- its about finding your place in the creative world through experimentation and practical learning. By the end of the course, youll have the skills you need to work out which creative path is right for you. Better yet, youll have developed a mini-portfolio with all the design assets youve created along the way. This is the perfect tool for applying for one of our Level 5 diplomas.

Entry requirements

For international students

Learners will be eligible to enter this programme if they:

Are at least 16 years old

Have basic computer skills and an interest in design

Hold NCEA Level 2 or equivalent evidence that they have the ability to succeed in the programme

Students with English as their second language require IELTS 5.5 (General or Academic) with no band lower than 5.0.
