What will I learn?

Lincolns Certificate in University Studies is a unique qualification that prepares you for further study, and opens the way for you to enter a degree programme.In just one semester of full-time study, Lincolns Certificate in University Studies will provide you with the grounding in academic study so you can fulfil your ambition to enter a degree programme at New Zealands world-recognised centre of land-based education. Youll expand your potential through language, writing and study skills. Then progress to grow your understanding and abilities in communication, technology, mathematics, economics and environment topics. When youve completed the Certificate in University Studies, youll be able to transfer to the Diploma in University Studies, and then onto to a Bachelors Degree. (Please note, this certificate is not a university entrance qualification in itself.)How youll growDevelop your writing, study and language skills so that youre ready for higher levels of learning right up to Bachelors Degree level.Develop your numeracy and build a base of understanding around economics.Begin to build your awareness of the contexts, priorities and challenges with managing environments from Lincoln – a world-recognised land-based university renowned for enhancing our relationship with the land.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • 58 NCEA credits at Level 2 or higher (including 30 credits over three approved subjects).
  • Plus University Entrance literacy and numeracy.
  • Other pathways may be considered.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS academic score of 5.0 overall, with no individual component less than 5.0
  • TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 35 (with at least 14 in writing)
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) overall score of 154, with no individual component less than 154
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 36 with no communicative score of less than 36
  • Lincoln University English Language LU EL 55%.
  • NZ Certificates in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 3 (General, Workplace or Academic Endorsement)
