What will I learn?

You create the future with this one-year foundation level animation course. You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of animation, 3D modelling, and pre-production, as well as the intricacies of 2D animation. This course serves as the perfect starting point for launching a successful career in Animation. Throughout the course, you'll explore the fundamentals of character animation, develop your art-skills, learn to refine and create believable animation characters and effects, and build your toolkit in 3D modelling and VFX. Its here that youll also learn the nuts and bolts of 2D animation methods like movement and dialogue, and build up your knowledge of animator software, workflow and industry practice. If you want to become a 2D animator, venture into game art and development, or 3D animation production, then this course is the best way to begin

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have completed NCEA Level 3 with credits in a relevant subject AND submit a portfolio of creative work demonstrating your current skills to be assessed.

OR

Applicants must have successfully completed the New Zealand Certificate in Digital Media and Design (Level 4) or equivalent

International applicants must be 18 years or older and have proof that they have gained within the last 2 years and English language skills equivalent to IELTs level 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0
