What will I learn?

Research overview

We have extensive international experience of research in applied bioethics, biotechnology assessment and the sociology of science and technology.

Our research is funded by the Wellcome Trust, Leverhulme Trust, European Union, BBSRC and other national research councils and charities.

The bioethics group works closely with staff across the University of Nottingham including the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, and the School of Sociology and Social Policy.

We have experience supporting interdisciplinary research on applied topics, and enabling students with a wide variety of backgrounds to transition into bioethics.

Research areas

Research can be grouped into four main themes:

    Full Time (4 years)

    Tuition fees
    £30,200.00 (US$ 39,001) per year
    £30,200 for low-cost projects, £35,750 for high-cost lab-based, £41,000 for technically intensive or specialised projects with high consumable costs, or £52,500 for exceptional technically intensive or specialised projects with high consumable costs.

    Entry requirements

    For international students

    2:1 (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject or 2:2 (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject with a Merit at masters. Other qualifications may also be accepted. IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 in each element). TOEFL (IBT): 90 (minimum 19 in writing and listening, 20 in reading and 22 in speaking)
