This course in 3D Design covers a wide range of different design areas and disciplines, literally everything that is designed for, and in, three dimensions from electronic goods to cars and bikes, from architecture and interior design to packaging, from handmade craft goods to exhibition and museum design . The course will also give students the opportunity to appreciate the work of other artists and designers and to learn about associated professional practice.
The 90 Credit qualification is a one year full-time course and is equivalent to 1.5 A-Levels. The natural progression on successful completion is into a second year for completion of a full Extended Diploma; the Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels. Some mature students however may choose to progress from the 90 Credit one year course directly into employment or alternative training.
The course will give you a broad knowledge and understanding of technology, materials and manufacturing processes associated with the 3D design industry. It will teach you practical and creative skills including visualisation techniques, animated computer presentations, making 3D development models and final facsimile prototypes. There are visits to London galleries, museums and other locations.
