What will I learn?

The rapid development and distribution of digital media technologies in so many aspects of everyday life raise new research questions. Specialist methods and approaches are needed to understand the transformations in everyday life and social worlds. Exploring these questions in your PhD, you鈥檒l work with expert faculty guiding and supervising you throughout your research project.

You can participate in the Sussex Humanities Lab, which is dedicated to developing and expanding interdisciplinary research at the cutting edge of digital humanities and digital media.

Areas of Study

We welcome research proposals in areas such as:

  • philosophy of media, critical theory, and technology
  • digital humanities
  • computational media and the political economy of computation.
  • Projects can be co-supervised by faculty in another school as appropriate.
