What will I learn?

- Studying education with history will give you a solid basis to anayse how theories of education and learning have changed over time.- Study the evolution of educational institutions over time and learn about access to education in different historical eras.- Learn about the context in which we live today through some of the most important and interesting periods in UK and world history.- Benefit from excellent teaching in a range of professionally relevant areas, such as problem-solving, communication, research methods and interpretation that enhance your employability.- Develop your knowledge and understanding of the education systems of Scotland and beyond.- Career opportunities to work in professions associated with education, for example, in law, psychology, journalism, the Civil Service and the Museums Service.- Joint study is a good pathway to the PGDE for those who wish to teach History in the future. With our BA (Honours) degree you can choose from subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences and Business, with two of your three subject choices taught by the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. The BA degree is a three year course and the Honours degree is normally a four year course. This allows you to try new subjects, develop your own ideas, develop a broad range of knowledge and enhance your employability. You should only enter one of the UCAS codes on your application form. Acceptance on one of these subject codes will enable you to study any combination of subjects. Only one application will be considered.
