What will I learn?

This highly practical TESOL course focuses on practical skills, together with the pedagogical theory needed to work in classrooms.

Course overview

This course will help your career development and make you eminently employable when you graduate. The focus is on the practical skills for the classroom, blended with the theory underlying them.

The course is designed so that whatever your starting point, you can develop your knowledge and understanding of English language teaching and learning.

For new graduates, our MA provides the opportunity to mix the practical with the theoretical, so you can enter the world of work not only with a CELTA, the world-leading initial teaching qualification, but with knowledge of theory behind the pedagogy. Teachers with experience will develop skills, knowledge and experience to prepare you to move into academic management.

The course also has a pathway for international students, including language development and understanding, and on western methods of learning and teaching.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants should normally possess a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any relevant discipline. As part of the selection process, applicants may be required attend an interview. International students are required have a minimum IELTS 6.5, or equivalent. Please note that IELTS 7.5 overall with no less than 7.0 is required for the CELTA component. TOEFL: Overall score: 88, Min sub skill- Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing : 17.
