What will I learn?

Diagnostic Medical Sonography involves the use of high frequency sound waves to provide anatomical and pathological images for interpretation by a physician. Among a sonographer鈥檚 duties are obtaining and reviewing a patient鈥檚 medical history and clinical data, recording and processing sonographic images, providing patient education related to medical ultrasound and promoting the principles of good health. A Sonographer works in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, offices, clinics. As such, a Sonographer, is responsible for appropriate and quality patient care. At all times, a Sonographer displays and maintains all work ethics in accordance with the standards as established by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

Program Goal:

To prepare competent entry-level general sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

What will I learn?

The use of high frequency sound waves to provide anatomical and pathological images for interpretation by a physician.

What can I do with this course of study?

Upon completion of this program, the student will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Sonography ARRT(S) exam, to become a Registered Technologist - Sonography, RT(S).

What's special about the program?

This program鈥檚 emphasis is on the general concentration, including abdominal, Obstetrical and Gynaecological sonography. Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Sonography.

Students are required to complete high school graduation equivalent to US qualification.

English language requirements: IELTS Score: 5.0; TOEFL score: 500 for Paper-Based Test; 173 for Computer-Based Test; 61 for Internet-Based Test.
