History today is about more than what you know; it鈥檚 what you can do. And we do things that matter.
We figure out why people think, act, and remember the way they do. We question what we鈥檝e been told about the past and why they told us. We find hidden patterns, connect historical dots, analyze long-lost sources and artifacts, research what others have missed, and tell stories that persuade people.
You鈥檒l work closely with expert faculty to create a curriculum tailored to your individual interests and goals. You鈥檒l learn skills that employers want. You鈥檒l engage in independent research, study abroad programs, internships, and other real-world experiences that do more than earn class credit鈥hey prepare you for life.
Internships: Our students will find internship opportunities at the Cincinnati Museum Center, New Riff Distillery, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Proctor and Gamble, the City of Newport, and multiple Cultural Resource Management firms.
Podcasting: Rather than writing a paper or taking a test that you throw away, several of our classes have students research, write, and present a podcast episode to be published on various media outlets.
Expedited Major: Want to complete a Master鈥檚 degree in one year? Join our expedited program and start earning graduate credit before you graduate!
