What will I learn?

Advancing the dairy industry

The Dairy Foods Management program will provide students with knowledge and hands-on training for careers in the dairy industry.

Students will study the processing and merchandising of milk and milk products, from creating new products to marketing of current products. Learn about ways to improve and enhance the safety and quality of dairy products, product improvement and development, economics, distribution, sales and marketing and other fields related to dairy processing.

The Dairy Foods Management program is part of the UI/WSU School of Food Science; students will gain hands-on experience working at the WSU Creamery, home of the world-famous Cougar Gold cheese.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. They must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. They should also satisfy the following English language requirements:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test or 70 on the Internet-based test
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of 6.0
  • Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48
  • ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112
  • Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass
  • Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass
  • Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass
  • English proficiency demonstration is waived for any applicant who has a previous degree at an accredited U.S. institution
