Admittance into this Bachelor of Applied Science requires completion of the CSN AAS Environmental Management degree or program director approval.

DESCRIPTION

This Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program has a technician emphasis in Environmental Conservation that provides a distinctive baccalaureate degree pathway for students who receive department approval to declare the BAS or have completed an associate degree in a similar or related field from an accredited institution and receive department approval. This degree furthers the AAS Environmental Management technician-level knowledge so that a graduate should be able to further their environmental conservation technician skills.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Summarize federal, county, state, and tribal policies driving natural resource policies.
  2. Recall landscape ecology principles and technology to analyze ecological scenarios.
  3. Recommend environmental techniques to develop management scenarios for working environmental conservation specialist.
  4. Analyze biological data to inform and make management decisions regarding environmental issues.
  5. Categorize natural resource decision-making utilizing effective communication techniques.
  6. Select Best Management Practice (BMP) and scientific strategies for managing natural resources.
  7. Assist in the preparation of Conservation Actions Plans (CAP), Biological Assessments (BA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Informal Biological Assessments (IBA), and other efforts.
  8. Show leadership skills within the environmental conservation and natural resource fields.

Students are required to have international qualification equivalent to U.S. High School diploma. English Proficiency Admission Requirements: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 61 iBT; Duolingo: 90.
