What will I learn?

The Department of Psychology鈥檚 undergraduate program offers you excellent training in understanding human behavior. Our degree allows you to complete a second major or a minor often without additional hours.

OSU psychology majors can participate in original research endeavors. With a flexible degree plan including online courses, a psychology degree can be customized to fit career goals. Our undergraduate program helps students acquire a range of skills including problem-solving, communication, research and computer literacy that are applicable to the career path of your choice.

Two programs, Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychology, offer students many research opportunities

Courses to expect for this major include Psychology of Humor, Social Psychology, and Clinical Child Psychology

Psychology majors are encouraged to join the Psychology Club, an undergraduate organization dedicated to helping OSU students learn about the field of psychology. Within the club, you can participate in workshops about career opportunities at the bachelor level, admission to graduate programs and presentations from professionals in various specialty areas in psychology. Psychology Club also facilitates interaction between students and psychology faculty, and provides numerous opportunities for community service.

Entry requirements

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
