What will I learn?

Upper Division General Education (minimum 6 credit hours): Option A. Approved Minor, 12-24 credit hours; also second degree or second major; Option B. Interdisciplinary Minor, 12 credit hours (3 credit hours may be in the major area of study); Option C. International business and regional courses or an approved certification program, such as teaching licensure (hours vary); Option D. Two Upper-Division Courses (6 credit hours) from outside the College of Arts and Letters or from the Social Science Component within the College of Arts and Letters that are not required by the major.

Requirements for Graduation: Requirements for graduation include a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 overall and in the major, no less than a grade of C in major courses, a minimum of 120 credit hours, which must include both a minimum of 30 credit hours overall and 12 credit hours of upper-level courses in the major program from Old Dominion University, completion of ENGL 110C, ENGL 211C or ENGL 221C or ENGL 231C, and the writing intensive (W) course in the major with a grade of C or better, and completion of Senior Assessment.

Electives: Completion of requirements for lower-division general education, upper-division general education and the major would entail 83 to 116 credits toward the 120 credits required for graduation. The remaining credit hours may be met with any university course the student is qualified to take, including additional courses in art.

Entry requirements

For international students

Traditional freshman applicants are typically under the age of 21 and currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school within the past two years and have not attended any regionally accredited college or university (not to include dual enrollment).

English proficiency test scores: TOEFL of 79 (550 paper based); IELTS overall band of 6.5; PTE score of 53; new SAT Reading Test of 26 or SAT Critical Reading of 480; GRE Verbal Reasoning of 152; GCSE or GCE 鈥淥鈥 level pass in English language; CPE grade of A, B, or C.
