What will I learn?

Alvernia鈥檚 Technical Theatre program prepares students to work in all facets of "backstage" tasks. It provides them with the tools to develop creatively in league with college and community partners to make the tomorrow we can鈥檛 imagine today. Through an innovative partnership with the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, Alvernia students have access to GoggleWorks studios and instructors, along with Alvernia faculty.


The program includes associate degree and bachelor's degree opportunities. The associate degree program trains new stage technicians, giving students the tools to work in performance venues and on media sets across the world. The bachelor of arts program strains stage technology leaders who can make shows, performances and events occur safely.

After earning a degree in Technical Theatre, you can pursue a variety of careers, including:

Technical director
Producer
Production management
Supply chain management
Project manager
Building contracting management
