What will I learn?

Rigorous and stimulating in nature, this program provides an environment that both challenges and prepares you to function in various capacities within the professional world of music.

Large enough to offer you rewarding performance opportunities, the department is also small enough to provide you with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. You have the opportunity to work with faculty who are nationally and internationally renowned artists and music scholars. The program also leads you toward completing an Oklahoma State Teacher's Certificate.

Entry requirements

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
