The Biomedical Sciences emphasis is for students dedicated to the advancement of science and who plan to pursue careers in biomedical research, medicine and other health professions. The program of study includes training in biological systems with a focus on anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and genomics. The department is renowned for its ground-breaking research in specialized areas, including genetics and genomics, population biology and ecology. Students are encouraged to engage in independent research.
