What will I learn?

The Data Analytics degree focuses on developing important data engineering skills as well as gaining expertise in sophisticated data analytics approaches. Data engineering skills are fundamental for successful use of data analytics such as visualization tools, predictive and prescriptive analytic tools, machine learning and applied artificial intelligence, all of which are valuable in today鈥檚 datacentric business world.

The MSIS Department is an international leader in data analytics and data science education and research. The Department is also home to the Center of Data Analytics (CODA), which facilitates analytic-based education and research initiatives across campus.

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
